WINDTRE LAUNCHES THE OASIS PROJECT TO CELEBRATE THE REDUCTION OF CO2 EMISSIONS AGREED WITH WWF

WINDTRE and WWF Italia celebrate a very important milestone: the achievement of the agreed objectives regarding the reduction of CO2 emissions . For this reason, on the occasion of World Earth Day, WINDTRE presented the ‘Oasis’ project, the initiative with which the company will support the conservation of protected areas to safeguard biodiversity . 2 square meters of land located in three WWF Oasis will be symbolically donated to each employee, identified on the basis of proximity to the main company headquarters: Vanzago, Macchiagrande and Astroni, respectively near the offices in Rho, Rome and Pozzuoli. The WWF Oases are more than 100 and cover more than 30 thousand hectares throughout the national territory.

In 2020, WINDTRE achieved the CO2 emission reduction targets defined together with the WWF in 2017, with a reduction of over 70% of emissions per traffic unit and more than 18% of the absolute ones “- explains Federica Manzoni, WINDTRE Sustainability & Quality Certification Director – and the ‘Oasi’ project was created precisely to underline this important result. Our company has been collaborating for years with WWF Italy on concrete activities dedicated to climate and energy saving and has set, among its goals, the achievement of ‘ carbon neutrality ‘ by 2030 ”. A commitment that is part of the new sustainability plan, defined with the collaboration of all company departments and the main stakeholders.
